Space Elevator

A space elevator is a structure designed to transport material from a planet's surface into space. The construction includes a base station, cable, climbers, and counterweight. The rotation of the Earth is used to keep the counterweight in space, much like swinginging a ball on a string. Aranuka Tower, controlled by the Cult of Omaha, is the only known operational space elevator. It is rumored that there was another space elevator, the cable of which broke at the base, allowing the counterweight to float loose in orbit, with its cable trailing in the Atlantic Ocean. This has yet to be confirmed.
